Singapore has always been fascinating to me. While I like traveling to beaches and mountains, I’ve always preferred visiting metropolises beyond Manila, and Singapore is high up in my list. I can’t exactly pinpoint the root of this interest–maybe it was the photos of affluent classmates in grade school who could afford going there with their families, or learning about the country in Asian history class in high school, or all the stories from my siblings–especially from my sister, who has been there on numerous occasions (mostly music festival-related), or that I’m a fan of a number of bands that hail from Singapore. Or maybe it’s a mix of all those. Opportunity arose and I was over the moon when my family decided to take a trip to the city-state.
